Whether you are in IT operations or an systems manager, Traverse offers a wealth of reports designed to address your needs for real-time fault analysis and capacity planning. Traverse's real-time, on-demand reporting engine provides a historical perspective across your applications, network and servers to satisfy your need to know the behavior of your IT infrastructure over time to support proactive upgrades and maintenance.

From basic reports that capture raw device performance to complex correlation graphs that show you the performance of virtual device containers over time, Traverse includes a variety of reports that give IT staff the information they need to:

• Identify real-time problems and highlight the root causes, while suppressing downstream dependent alarms
• Identify which IT elements are nearing their capacity for capacity planning
• Determine the number of days to hit a bandwidth or disk capacity threshold
• Obtain downtime and MTTR from the distribution graphs
• Identify 'underutilized' servers

All of Traverse's reports are viewable using a web browser and have a clear and concise presentation. The on-demand reporting engine allows you to drill down instantly from any table or chart into the details for an individual test, right down to the raw data itself.

Correlation Graph

Since Traverse manages applications, networks and servers and allows your to create test level service containers which map to your business. The correlation report displays all the various elements of a service in a easy to view matrix, highlighting the hour that any of the elements had a problem. The report allows instant drill down into any element, for any hour and displays the test level details for that particular hour.

Top-N

The top-N report shows the top devices and tests sorted by the total downtime and number of times each of these went into a non-OK state. The total time and average time in warning or critical is calculated, in addition to the frequency by day of week. The report supports drill down, so any device or test can be clicked upon to drill down further into the system.

Trend reports

Traverse collects and stores performance data using a smart aggregation scheme which allows storing multiple year's worth of data in a small footprint. Using regression algorithms, the trend report analyzes the growth trend for bandwidth, CPU, disk, etc. and calculates the days to hit thresholds which allows you to pro-actively take corrective actions.

Under-utilized resources

In addition to showing the IT elements that are close to capacity, it is equally important to highlight which resources are not being utilized for maximizing your investment in these resources. This report pin-points all the under utilized resources in the IT infrastructure.

Historical graphs

Traverse stores performance data for over a year, and the historical graphs display the long term data for a year, 6 months and 1 month time spans.

Statistical Analysis

Traverse's reporting engine calculates valuable metrics such as 98th percentile,  95th percentile, mean, standard deviation from the historical data for any given time range.

In addition to the above, you can get snapshot reports for a particular device, display CPU utilization, trace slow application response times, track when disk space is close to capacity and track frame relay circuit performance. Traverse's point and click navigation and instant drill down lets you report on your IT infrastructure quickly and easily.

From basic reports that capture raw device performance data such as disk data transfer rates or application server transaction processing responses to more analytical reports with insights into revenue protection and capital expense saving potential, Traverse addresses every conceivable reporting need.

Traverse offers reports for every kind of user:

• High-level views for CXO level executives - e.g. Is our eCommerce infrastructure fast enough for our users that demand sub-second response times?
• Raw-data level details for the technically oriented - includes log file analysis.

Also, with Traverse's federated security model, users can instantly switch from viewing network performance across departments or a business service to those across a location, client, vendor or other entity. In addition to those available out-of-the-box, reports can be easily customized to reveal key performance metrics desired for executive management. Typically these metrics would include the following:

IT Management and Operations-level Reports

Custom Reports. Users can create completely customized reports using the powerful custom reporting option which allows selecting the time range, the devices and tests, and the type of report to generate.

Operational Reports. These are reports that will be used on a regular basis by network operations to identify faults and system performance by looking at metrics such as: Problems or events in the last 24 hours Frequency and nature of alarms for most problematic devices Problems by location Specific problem concentrations such as bandwidth, disk or CPUproblems Details of a monitored element (e.g. Oracle)

Planning & Performance Reports. These reports consolidate information from the operational reports over a period of time and apply advanced but meaningful statistical and mathematical analyses and algorithms to display performance and planning report. Reports in this category uncover details such as: Most utilized servers? Least utilized servers? Routers or disks reaching capacity? Disks, CPU, links NOT utilized? Less than 30-days-to-overload Days to reach established threshold levels

Customizable fault and performance reports. Users may define groups of devices to be monitored and the associated thresholds. As an example of a custom report an user may want to investigate the total time a device was unavailable, wish to count the number of outages or view mean-timeto- repair (MTTR) data. Custom reports are a breeze to set up with Traverse using drop-down list boxes and selectable tests options that are available to users out-of-the-box.

End-to-end Service Reports and SLA Reports. These are summary reports that document system performance and availability in a given time-frame that enables you to provide your vendors or customers with the proof that is so necessary but is sometimes so hard to put together. This is especially true for enterprises using multiple solutions in the absence of an integrated fault performance management product. Typical reports include: Service Outages in a given time-frame Service Health Report (real-time) Traverse provides critical SLA Reports for corporations with delivery commitments to or from multiple customers or vendors.
